Canal Street

Manchester's Gay Village is without doubt the livliest area of the city and this is reflected by the number of pubs, bars and clubs dotted around Canal Street, or 'anal treet' as it's also affectionately known locally.

Canal Street is the name most widely associated with Manchester's Gay Village. Lined with gay bars, clubs, cafe's and shops, it's packed at night time with gays, lesbians, transexuals and transvetites who have flocked to the area from all over the world. Many attracted by the Queer As Folk television drama which was based here.

Whilst 'The Village' is full of gay bars, most of them are straight friendly and the popularity of the area with hetrosexuals underlines the welcoming open-minded attitude Mancunians are famed for. A great time is guaranteed for anybody, gay straight or bi-sexual.

# Company Bar















Popular men-only basement bar located just outside Manchester’s central gay district.
Company Bar has a limited and dark space and is particular popular with the leather and muscle crowd. A place to be seen and enjoy Happy Hour drink offers that go on late into the evening.


#VIA














Popular gay bar/restaurant on Canal Street. VIA has a new cocktail bar, new menu and dining area with booth seating. Resident DJ’s play upbeat music, gay anthems and pop tunes. There are big TV screens showing sports and special offers on selected drinks.
Quirky and fun atmosphere. Mixed crowd.

#Tribeca













Stylish LGBT bar, situated close to the Gay Village of Manchester.
Tribeca features contemporary New York loft style décor with a mezzanine above the entrance, a larger bar area and a chill-out lounge with comfy sofas.  A bar menu is also available. The music ranges from chill-out jazz during the day to mainstream upbeat tunes in the evening, with DJ’s spinning on the weekend to get the party going. Tribeca gets busy in the evenings and on weekends.

Dine, drink or dance, KIKI offers it all.
From burgers to champagne and drag cabaret to late night groove as resident DJ’s spin crowd pleasing pop.


#Baa Bar















Funky gay / mixed bar in Gay Village where you’ll find cheap drinks and young crowd. DJ’s play a variety of dance and party music. With an emphasis on drinking, Baa Bar always has special offers on drinks and also hosts private events.
