Finally~ Today is the submission day~

Yeah~ We have just submitted the file online. Everything goes well, and happy ending. 6 weeks module, it's finally ended here.

Through out this CCCP2 module, I have learnt a lot. Especially  the way to work as a team with friends from different courses. Other than that, I also learnt that team work is very important. When we want to explain something, we have to explain clearly, because people from other courses might not understand my "Multimedia Designer Language". Other than that, my English is improved a lot through our this module. Since I am going to study abroad soon, I have to force myself talk English more frequently. That's a good improvement.

Our project is Box Story. I think it a a very potential project and everyone done well in the project. I have also put a lot of effort for this project, and approximately everyday I used at least 3 hours each day for completing  the project. Every effort that I put, I learnt something. Manchester and Salford is really better than what I thought, and I felt very excited for studying abroad there. Other than that, the lecturers from UOS are very friendly and professional. And the CCCP module is planed nicely.

I love it, and I enjoyed it! I

Day Four

It's Day Four, and tomorrow will be the presentation day. This morning we are gather in DKE again, and today was a very "short yet serious" briefing. Lecturers from UOS had brief us about the marking criteria for tomorrow's presentation. Yeah, tomorrow will be the day.

After the very short briefing, we had rush to the computer lab area and continued our "production".
Today's production are more rush and overload. The graphic team, animation team, and broadcast team are busying with the task. Everyone have their own job to do, and we had put our full effort on everything. These are what we have to done by today:

Today is a really busy and tired day, but we really hope that tomorrow's presentation will be success.

Wednesday 8 July 2015

Day Three

Day three, it's production day!!

Today is a very busy day for me, because today we need to produce a lot of things in speed. At the morning, we have a short briefing in Fashion Space, then we have to start our production quickly.

We need to rush everything in about 4 hours, then we have to present it to the UOS lecture. There also had told us what they are expecting to see in Friday presentation, and what we need to produce for the presentation.

Everything are in rush. Since our group is group D, we had decided a group name for our team, which is Double Team.

Then, we started our job! The broadcast people had redraw a nice storyboard and storyline, and started for video shooting. Then, the graphic and multimedia people are busying with producing graphics for the presentation later.

Me and Ker Sin 's task is producing a team poster for ourselves. Based on the idea and concept which agree with the whole team, we had designed a "reflection" poster and here is the outcome:

Everything were very in rush, but luckily we were able to done something for the presentation at 2pm. We are group D, so we are the forth group. Everyone in our group were quite nervous with the presentation because we did not know the expectation from UOS.

After the presentation, we had received a lot of good suggestions and opinions from the lecturer. And we had get the "middle grade". Thanks a lot and it's a good starting for us. I hope we can be better in the future weeks. Double Team, all the best!

Favourite Spots for my Photography Desire

# Day 14

I love design, and I love photography too. As a secretary of Photographic Society in TARUC, I admit that I really love photography very much. That's why I'm doing the research for photography spots. Studying abroad in UOS is a great chance for me to capture the beauty of Manchester and Salford with my camera. Although I'm not a professional photographer, but I have the confident to capture the best parts of Manchester and Salford, and tell the world.

Here are some of the photography spots that attracted me the most, with some samples of good photography I found. I promised myself that I will capture a lot of great photos there.

# Graffiti at Withington Pumping Station

I am a designer, I love art and design. Withington Pumping Station is a very famous legal graffiti wall in Manchester and this great graffiti photography spots is attracted me the most. Recently street art in Penang, Malaysia is quite famous. Thus, I always wondering how Manchester's people draw as street art. When I found this great place, I promise myself that I will go to this place a check it out.

# The Lowry Bridge

Landscape photography always is my favourite photography topic. The architecture in Manchester and Salford is fantastic. The Lowry Bridge is a very beautiful photography spots, especially at night. The light from the bridge is very beautiful and attractive.

# Town Hall

Yeah, it's Town Hall. Perhaps this is the compulsory photo shooting spots for tourist. It's one of the most important representative architecture of Manchester. It is a Victorian, Neo-gothic municipal building, with unique interior and exterior architecture characteristic. It is suitable for both landscape photography and portrait photography. No matter in day time, sunset, or night time, it's still a great spot for photography.

Buying Habits

# Day 13

Today, I had done some research about the buying habit in Manchester and Salford.

#Grocery
I found out that they always go for bulk buying and save money, especially grocery. This situation had conjure up visions of super-sized portion, but bulk buying isn't about quantity buy thrift. For them, bulk buying means buying in large quantities from bix-box stores like Costco and Walmart, or Supermarket like Unicorn, A Market and Hannaford, in an effort to save money. Most of the people there preferring go for grocery stores/supermarket weekly (mostly in weekend), and they will buy all the necessary grocers for coming one week.

# Clothing
Fast fashion brands (like Primark, H&M, Topshop, Zara and River Island) are often be the first choice for Mancunian. This is because Mancunian are quite concern about the quality and updated fashion. Other than that, Vintage Clothing is a massive student trend right now. It's easy for students to buy cheap, good quality clothes nowadays.

Other than that, I also found out that there is also a modern day shopping habits there, which is online shopping. Based on research, the BBC has reported that 74 percent of the adult population shop online, and nearly half of the purchase are clothing.

Manchester students are in a prime position now to look as stylish as they like, without having to struggle around the Trafford Cente at the weekend.

Architecture & Building

# Day12

Today, my research topic is about architecture and building in Manchester. I had do a lot of research regarding the topic, explore the history of Manchester's architecture from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Manchester is one of the England's great cities, outstanding for its combination of Victorian architecture and industrial heritage. It lies on the banks of the River Irwell near the south western foothills of the Pennines, less than forty miles from the west coast. The architecture of Manchester
demonstrates a rich variety of architectural styles. The city is a product of the Industrial Revolution and is known as the first modern, industrial city.

# Medieval Manchester

The medieval town grew up around a bluff confluence of the rivers Irwell and Irk. This was the site of the manor house f the Grelley Family by the 13th century, and probably also their castle, recorded in 1184.

# Georgian Manchester

At this time the town was still centred around the church and marketplace. The establishment of St Ann's Church in 1709 and laying out of St Ann's Square in 1720 to the S of the old town centre was the first major planned development outside the medieval confines. By the second half of the 18th century Manchester had become a provincial town of the first rank. Trade was burgeoning and rapid expansion towards the end of the 18th century was facilitated by sales of large parcels of land in and around the centre.  Rapid growth in the late 18th century and 19th century was accompanied by seemingly unprecedented levels of poverty, deprivation and squalor, and although the slum housing has almost completely disappeared a range of philanthropic, charitable and municipal buildings survives as witness to the middle class response to the plight of the urban poor.

# Industrial Manchester

By the end of the 18th century Manchester was poised to move on to the world stage as urban and industrial expansion gathered pace. South East Lancashire and Manchester became the first industrial economy and society in the world. The town had by then an important asset in the country's first canal (1759-65) of the industrial era, built by the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater, with its terminal basin at Castlefield, south of the centre.

# 19th Century Machester

The public buildings, clubs and institutions of the early 19th century town illustrate the ambitions of the town's middle classes. The architecture of the High Victorian decades is dominated by GothicGlossary Term and ItalianateGlossary Term styles. The palazzoGlossary Term style, seen first at the Athenaeum on Princess Street. The 1870s and 1880s saw the virtual rebuilding of several city streets. ItalianateGlossary Term and GothicGlossary Term styles continued. North European RenaissanceGlossary Term styles became more popular from the end of the 1880s.

# 20th century Manchester

At the opening of the 20th century Manchester was reaping the benefits of one of the most ambitious municipal undertakings of the 19th century, the Manchester Ship Canal, which opened in 1894. Its success is reflected in the proliferation of commercial buildings of the early 20th century, amongst the most conspicuous of which are the huge Lloyds Packing Warehouses on Whitworth Street designed by Harry S. Fairhurs. After the First World War the major civic undertaking in the centre was the Central Library and Town Hall extension. New building of the 1970s was less ambitious than in the previous decade, except in terms of scale.

Keeping Warm

# Day11

Fashion style is an important topic to be concern because it symbolize the people there. I am going UOS at winter, and I always wondering how Mancunian dressed in winter. Thus, today my research topic is about how to dressed in winter and keep warm there.

I had done a lot of research and here are some winter clothes & accessories that I like the most out of so many (which can found in Manchester).

# Accessories for keeping warm

# Winter Coats

# Winter Boots

# Christmas Jumpers

# I also found a Winter Lookbook of a beautiful Mancunian, and I like her style so much. I can try to dressed similar when I study abroad there.
